General Fund
Mariandale has a strong outreach program that affects the lives of many. In the summer, our pool and picnic grounds host many groups of local and inner city children from the five boroughs of New York. Groups also use our retreat facilities at little or no cost: handicapped individuals, senior citizens, families of the incarcerated, peace activists, etc. All of these groups are either partially of fully subsidized by Mariandale.
Monies are needed to further underwrite this outreach work, to provide scholarships for individuals who cannot fully afford to pay for retreats or programs, and to provide for specific needs of the retreat house (for instance in 2006 we replaced all the mattresses).

Mary Mitchell Memorial Fund
Mary Mitchell, OP, was the visionary behind the creation of Mariandale Retreat and Conference Center. She remained at the heart of Mariandale until her death in 1995. She had a particular concern for abuse victims and for women. The fund has been established to provide assistance for women who are unable to afford Mariandale retreats and services.
Who is eligible to receive scholarships from the fund? Women with spiritual needs or who are in need of spiritual refreshment, abused women or women who are economically disadvanted.
The frequency for receiving funds for any one person is limited to one time per year for programs and retreats. The amount available for each person will depend upon the individual situation. Remember a Loved One through a Gift to Our Gardens of Peace at Mariandale.
Celebrate a friend’s birthday, commemorate a special couple’s anniversary, or remember a loved one who now rests with God. Your monetary, tax deductible donation will be used to help create beautiful perennial flowering garden beds here on the property that will bloom for many years to come. You may also dedicate a bench or other garden structure for the property. A special acknowledgement card, in your name, can be sent to the person or persons of your choice.
